Data Security and Destruction

Top Secret Data Destruction Compliance

At WV Technologies, we understand the data security risks, pitfalls and complexities associated with IT disposals. We work closely with our clients to provide advice and education on overcoming any issues with their data security.

We are the first NAID AAA certified company for all data sanitisation and destruction services. We also are endorsed by the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) for TOP SECRET data destruction services. Our processes are engineered to comply with the Information Security Manual developed by the Australian Defence Signals Directorate and the Australian Cyber Security Centre.

“Recognising the accreditation that has been secured here is an enormous accomplishment for WV Technologies" enabling them "to be able to manage lifecycle data in a way that provides the highest level of security, protect information and keep all of our systems as safe and secure as possible."

                                                                                                                                        - Minister of Finance, Hon Simon Birmingham

When you work with WV technologies, your data is handled by security cleared staff, transported in GPS tracked vehicles and processed in secure facilities with biometric access and 24/7 monitoring.

In short, our accreditations mean your due diligence on your IT disposal partner has already been done for you.

We have 100% data sanitisation and destruction coverage as outlined in the following image.

NAID AAA Certification is the independent audit of the data sanitisation and destruction processes, procedures and activities. It ensures compliance with all known data protection laws through scheduled and surprise audits by trained, accredited security professionals and fulfils organisations regulatory due diligence obligations. NAID AAA has replaced the ASIO T4 accreditation, so you are assured the due diligence of your IT disposal partner has been undertaken to the highest standards.

Protective Security Policy Framework

The Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) Security Classification framework applies to any entity that handles sensitive Federal Government data, including private organisations and/or State or Local Government entities.

To minimise risk and take reasonable steps to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and APP11, The Office of the Information Commissioner recommends that all entities follow the Information Security Manual (ISM) as published by the Australian Signals Directorate and the Australian Cyber Security Centre. The ISM explicitly requires a NAID AAA Certified disposal company for sensitive information.

All of our data sanitisation and data destruction solutions can be undertaken on your site, or at our secure facilities.

Our solutions include:

  • Certified Blancco Erasure
  • NSA, NAID and PSPF Approved Disintegrator
  • NSA, NAID and PSPF Approved Degausser

Certified Blancco Erasure

Blancco is the industry standard in data erasure and mobile device diagnostics software. Blancco erasure allows for the reuse of assets instead of physically destroying them while ensuring compliance with local and global data privacy requirements. Erasure, with verification, is approved under the Australian Government Information Security Manual.

Our Disintegrator is approved to destroy SSD's, HDD's, USBs, CD's, Paper and other media to 2.38mm, which exceeds the ISM’s requirements of below 3mm for TOP SECRET classification. This can be undertaken at our site or our clients site.

NSA, NAID and PSPF Approved Degausser

Our degausser is approved to destroy magnetic media to TOP SECRET classification as per the ISM.

Whether you require certified data erasure, degaussing or shredding/disintegrating, we provide this to you at your site or our secure facilities across the country.
