WV Technologies Pairs with UTS Rapido on Exciting Collaboration
We’re proud to be partnering with UTS Rapido on an exciting new initiative for ‘Aboriginal-Led Global Cyber Innovation for IT and AI Data Centre Automation’ as part of the Australian Federal Government’s Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) grant.
Bringing together leading firms like UTS Rapido, CSIRO, Viden Labs, Itadly, and i-SIGMA, we’ll be leading a project looks to build Australia’s capability in the AI blockchain and IT data centre lifecycle space.
Our MD Kurt Gruber said, “For us, this isn’t just a technology project. It’s a chance for us to continue leading the way in our industry and deliver real-world solutions using AI as the vehicle. This long term partnership with UTS Rapido means more e-waste recycled, more secure device erasure, better cybersecurity, and more Indigenous jobs created.
We’re all about doing business for the right reasons and this partnership and grant means we can continue to create lasting social impact in Indigenous communities across Australia.”
We’ve been leading our industry in ESG outcomes and now, with this project we’ll be leading the way in:
– Developing AI and blockchain-enabled tools for secure device erasure, grading and cybersecurity
– Accelerating e-waste recycling using AI technology
– A certification pathway across 35 countries, strengthening Australia’s sovereign capability
– Ensuring Indigenous employment outcomes are embedded at every step
– Scaling an Indigenous social enterprise into global markets
From UTS Rapido, Executive Director Hervé H. said, “Our role at UTS Rapido contributes to outcomes that benefit the broader Australian community, and this project with WV Tech reflects that through a sustainability-driven approach to e-waste and support for Indigenous-led innovation and enterprise. It builds on a five-year partnership with WV Tech, grounded in a shared commitment to applying engineering and technology to deliver clear social and environmental impact.
This initiative also demonstrates the strength of collaboration. Working alongside organisations such as CSIRO and industry partners brings together the expertise required to advance complex technologies like AI and blockchain in applied settings.
CRC-P funding is critical to making this possible. It enables industry-led collaboration to move with intent, accelerating the transition from research to deployment and strengthening Australia’s capability in areas that matter for long-term economic and societal impact.”
Note: This project received grant funding from the Australian Government.
